Notes

*Quintal can be a yard, a backyard or a garden.

Alternate Version:

Cachorrinho está latindo (The puppy is barking)
Lá no fundo do quintal; (There in the backyard)
Cala a boca, cachorrinho, (Hush your mouth, puppy)
Deixa o meu amor entrar! (Let my love come in.)

Ô esquindô lê lê,*
Ô esquindô lê lê lá lá,
Ô esquindô lê lê
Não sou eu que caio lá. (I'm not the one who falls there.)

*"Ô esquindô lê lê…" doesn't mean anything.

Game Instructions

The children form a circle holding hands. One child goes in the middle. Everyone walks around the circle. On "Criô lê lê" they all clap hands and the one in the middle chooses someone from the circle. They dance and skip on one foot, then on the other, then the first child joins the circle, the chosen one stays in the middle and the game starts all over again.
