This is a Tamil game of Drop the Handkerchief.

Notes

There are longer versions of this rhyme. Here's one I found online...

கொல, கொலயா, முந்திரிக்கா...
நரியே, நரியே, சுத்திவா...
கொள்ளையடிச்சவன் எங்கிருக்கான்..
கூட்டத்தில்..இருப்பான் கண்டுபிடி.

Pronunciation (from Google Translate):

Kola, kolayā, muntirikkā...
Nariyē, nariyē, cuttivā...
Koḷḷaiyaṭiccavaṉ eṅkirukkāṉ..
Kūṭṭattil..Iruppāṉ kaṇṭupiṭi..

Loose Translation:

Bunches and bunches of cashew fruit.
Fox, fox go around and come back.
Where is the robber?
In the crowd, find him!

If anyone can confirm the full lyrics, please email me! Thanks, Mama Lisa

Game Instructions

The children sit in a circle except for the one who is "It". She goes around the outside of the circle holding a handkerchief while singing, "Kola kolaya mundhirika". The kids in the circle respond with, "Neraya neraya suthi vaa." At some point the one who's "It" drops the handkerchief behind a child. That child has to pick up the handkerchief and chase the one who's "It" around the circle until the one who's "It" takes the 2nd child's spot. If the one who's "It" is caught first, she continues being "It".
