Fa la ninna, fa la nanna - Italian Children's Songs - Italy - Mama Lisa's World: Children's Songs and Rhymes from Around the World - Intro Image

Gilbert sent this song with the following note: "I would like to submit an Italian lullaby, 'Fa la ninna' which my mother used to sing to me. I am first generation Italian-American."

Thanks also to Gilbert DeBenedetti for singing "Fa la ninna" for us!

MTA who created this video wrote on her blog (which I translated from the French): "My mother put us to sleep singing this lullaby, among others, when my siblings and I were little children. The voice of my mother and these few words sung are forever imprinted in us. I found Fa la ninna, fa la nanna on Mama Lisa's World... So I downloaded the lullaby and crafted this video where my painting "Thank Goodness We're Heading Towards Peace" is featured. The rhyme is very well sung by a man (Gilbert DeBenedetti) who must also be nostalgic..."
