This type of rhyme is very old. Here is a version that appeared in print as early as 1627 in "Vocabulario de refranes" by Gonzalo Correas (original spelling):

Paxarita de Dios, (God's ladybird)
cuéntame los dedos (Count my fingers)
i vaite con Dios. (And go with God.)
