The Parade of Nations is part of the opening ceremony at the Olympics. Teams from each nation march out together starting with Greece as the originator of the Olympic games. The parade ends with the host country, in this case it’s South Korea, though they’re marching with North Korea this year. In between are all the other participating countries. How do they come out? In alphabetical order! But this year it’s Korea and they have a different alphabet… so you guessed it! They come out in alphabetical order according to the Korean alphabet. This is how it works at every Olympic opening ceremony.
