The dance for this song represents the actions of the fishermen pulling in their nets.

The boat is a trawler, a type of boat that pulls a large fishing net through the water behind the boat to catch the fish.

Each verse is sung twice (but not the chorus).

Notes

*Εβίρα (Evira) is a Greek word that fishermen use when pulling and lifting like "heave-ho".

Katerina wrote a note on Εβίρα (Evira), "The Greek fishermen usually say…'Vira the anchors' or 'Evira the anchors/or the net'.

The word 'Evira' or 'Vira' has a Venetian root. It comes from the verb 'Virar' which means: pull and lift. From this Venetian verb the Greeks made a Greek verb (viraro) which means 'I pull'.

'Evira one, to the sails' means that I pull the sails. 'Evira Two in the village/at her house'…. maybe the author wanted to say… 'let's go while we pull the nets, to her village and her house'… For that reason I originally left the word without a translation. But I think it's a good idea to put 'heave ho' in Evira's place."

**Dyo Liskaria (or Lisgaria) is a famous beach on Leros Island.
