Can Someone Help with an American Song with “Wee waw wittilum” in it?

Lisa,

Have you ever heard of a song which begins with these words, and I don’t know how to spell all of them:

“Wee waw wittilum, jack saw sattalum…”

It’s a song about a man or boy who sells his belongings for things that don’t add up, like his house for a horse and stuff like that. My father says his grandmother would sing it to him in rural Arkansas back in the 1930’s.

Thank you for your help.

If anyone is familiar with this song, please let us know about it in the comments below.

Thanks!

Lisa
