This is another version of the Itsy Bitsy Spider in Spanish. The English translation is literal. You'll find another version below it called La pequeñita arana...

Notes

*****

In 2006, Carlos MacClesh sent me this version with the note:

"I was raised in Mexico, a long time ago. I remember the Itzi Bitzi Spider song like this:

La pequeñita arana

La pequeñita arana
tejió su telaraña
vino la lluvia
y se la llevo

Y salio el sol
y se seco la lluvia
y la pequeñita arana
subió subió subió

The Little Bitty Spider
(English Translation)

The little bitty spider
Wove its spider web
The rain came
And took it away

And the sun came out
And dried the rain
And the little bitty spider
Went up, up, up.

It's almost the same as the one posted except it says 'la pequenita' (the little bitty) instead of 'itzi bitzy'." - Carlos MacClesh

Blanca wrote to us: "I just want to share a different version of the Itzie Bitzie Spider in Spanish. The music is the same, and the lyrics are like this:"

La Araña Pequeñita

La araña pequeñita,
Subio, subio, subio.
Vino la lluvia,
y se la llevo.

Salio el sol
y todo lo seco.
Y la araña pequeñita,
subio, subio, subio.

(Yvette Sanchez sent the same version.)

Here's an English translation by Monique Palomares:

The Tiny Spider

The tiny spider,
Climbed up, climbed up, climbed up,
Down came the rain,
And washed the spider out.

Out came the sun,
And dried it all up,
And the tiny spider,
Climbed up, climbed up, climbed up.
