In our house, The Phantom Tollbooth is one of our favorite children’s novels. Now you can watch a short YouTube video featuring the author (Norton Juster) and the illustrator (Jules Feiffer) of The Phantom Tollbooth. It’s 50 years since they created it.
In October, The Annotated Phantom Tollbooth will come out. You’ll be able to read "…excerpts from Juster’s notes and drafts… the fascinating background on the book’s publication – Juster and Feiffer met as young neighbors in Brooklyn, New York, and thus began a fortuitous collaboration on a project that would become an instant classic – as well as its enduring place in the world of children’s literature."
Happy Birthday to The Phantom Tollbooth! If you haven’t gotten a copy of the book for your kids or students, go get one now!
Enjoy!
Mama Lisa

Thanks for posting! The footage from that video is from a larger documentary film being made about the book and Norton Juster and Jules Feiffer. There’s another great trailer and more info – take a look here: http://www.thephantomtollboothturns50.com.
