Recipe for Frozen Mediterranean Mojito

mojitomojito2My husband and I recently went to a restaurant in Manhattan where we were served a Frozen Mediterranean Mojito. It was very delicious!

I figured out how to make them at home and plan to make them for Thanksgiving this year. Of course, it’s for the adults since it contains anisette. But hey, we deserve a treat too sometimes!

Below you’ll find my recipe. Adjust as desired to suit your taste.

Recipe for Frozen Mediterranean Mojitos

Makes 3-4 Mojitos

3 cups of Mint Leaves
1/4 cup Agave or Simple Syrup*
1/3 cup Anisette
Zest of 1/2 Lime
Juice of 1 – 2 Limes
2 1/2 Cups of Ice
1 1/2 cup Water

*To make simple syrup mix equal parts water and sugar. Cook on medium heat in a small saucepan. Once the sugar melts and the syrup is translucent it’s ready. Take it off the heat and let cool.

1. Clean the mint leaves and take them off the stem. Discard stems. Put aside a few leaves for garnish.

2. Place all ingredients in a blender. I mixed it on "crush ice" and "liquefy". Ideally it should be slightly more watery than a slushy. Make it to suit your taste.

Cheers!
