Podcast about Somali Lullabies

somali lullabies

Maryan Anshur has been collecting Somali children’s stories, songs and lullabies for 30 years. In the podcast below she talks about the songs of Somalia and even sings some lullabies…

Maryan produced a booklet and CD, to preserve her Somali cultural heritage. You can find it at Quirky Press.
You can also listen to one of Maryan’s recordings of a Somali lullaby called Dhammow (Oh, Perfect Child) and read the Somali text and an English translation on Mama Lisa’s World.
Enjoy!
