Dominican Creole Proverb
February 19th, 2015
We just added a song that’s sung in Dominica!
Here’s a Dominican Creole Proverb:
Piti hach ka bat gwo bwa.
It literally means:
Little axe cuts big tree.
English equivalent:
Don’t judge a man by his size.

Hello MLW,
I guess Hungarian says the following: ” Many ganders defeats the pig”. Or “The pepper is small but strong!” By he way, I wonder “Beauty is only skin deep” could also be an equivalent for this proverb? I mean “Don’t judge a man by his size” meant for me something about the deceptive nature of the surface. I knew the version actually with the noun “Book”: Dont judge a book by its cover.
