Does Anyone Know a Hungarian Tickling Rhyme about Writing a Letter?

Kimberly wrote looking for help with a Hungarian rhyme. Here’s the question she emailed us:

Hi Lisa,

I love your website because I spent three years teaching at a bilingual preschool in Budapest and I loved it!

I remember one of the Hungarian teachers playing a game with the children that I would love to try to translate and do with my nephews but I cannot remember the words! One child would sit in her lap and she would use her finger to “write” on the child’s back while telling a little story/rhyme that had something to do with writing a letter. If I remember correctly, something would go wrong with the letter, so she would have to keep re-writing it, (of course, this tickled the kids and made them squirm and laugh) and when the letter was completed she would tuck it in the envelope (inside the collar of the child’s shirt).

Any thoughts?

Thank you so much!

Kimberly

If anyone knows anything about this rhyme, please let us know in the comments below. We’d love to learn it!

Thanks in advance!

Mama Lisa
