Can Anyone Help with an Irish Song about a Funeral and a Wagon Pulled by Horse?

Debbie wrote asking fro help with a childhood song her Irish grandmother sang to her son.  Here’s her email:

Hi,

My grandmother came here from Ireland at 14. She died in 1971 and was 85. She used to sing to my brother when he was a baby in the carriage and my son the same. It was a song that went on and on. It had words about a funeral and a wagon pulled by horses, sad song. My mother had said it was a funeral song. How can I get an info on it?  It is sad when there is no one left and you have so many questions.

Debbie

If anyone can help Debbie, please comment below.

Thanks!

Mama Lisa

I agree Debbie. Even though the song sounds like it’s a ballad, when it’s sung to a baby to put them to sleep it can be considered a lullaby (even if “unofficially”). -Mama Lisa

I think the song you are looking for is “will the circle be unbroken”
