"Lift Every Voice and Sing" is often referred to as the Black national anthem. It was first written as a poem by James Weldon Johnson (1871–1938) in 1900. It was set to music by his brother J. Rosamond Johnson (1873–1954) in 1905.

This song is sung at Juneteenth celebrations which celebrates the end of slavery in the United States.
