"When we said this as children, it wasn't a tongue twister like, 'Les chaussettes de l'archi-duchesse sont-elles sèches ou archi-sèches ?' It was some sort of mysterious sentence you had to say as fast as you could, so that the others couldn't split it up into words and understand it. You could feel so much smarter… till they got it!" -Monique

Tonton, le thé de ta tatie… - French Children's Songs - France - Mama Lisa's World: Children's Songs and Rhymes from Around the World - Intro Image

"Tonton" and "tatie" (or tata) are endearment terms for "uncle" and "aunt" in French.

The 1st recording is slower than the 2nd one. Normally French people say it the faster way (like the 2nd mp3 recording).

Thanks to Monique Palomares for reciting this for us (both mp3's)!

Thanks and Acknowledgements
