Fiez-vous-y ! – Trust It!

Here’s the poem Fiez-vous-y ! by Charles d’Orléans, with a recording and an English translation:

MP3 Recording of Fiez-vous-y !

Fiez-vous-y !

Fiez-vous-y !
À qui ?
En quoi ?
Comme je vois,
Rien n’est sans si.

Ce monde-ci
A si
Peu foi.
Fiez-vous-y !

Plus je n’en dis,
N’écris,
Pour quoi ?
Chacun j’en crois
S’il est ainsi ;
Fiez-vous-y !

Trust It!

Trust it!
Who?
What?
As I see it,
Nothing is without an "if".

This world here
Has so
Little faith.
Trust it!

I won’t say more,
Nor write,
Why?
I believe everyone
If it’s so;
Trust it!

English translation by Lisa Yannucci and Monique Palomares.  Monique works with me on the French version of Mama Lisa’s World.

Enjoy!
