Can Anyone Help with Some Czech Songs?

Can anyone help with any of these questions from our readers about some Czech songs?  Some of the lyrics are written phonetically in their letters to us.

1.  Song about 2 Cats

Hello!

I’m looking for a Czech nursery song about a boy and two cats, probably one white and one black.

I’m interested in the lyrics and melody.

Thank you for your help.

2.   Ho ho clobby

Hello,

I am looking for the lyrics to an old bohemian or Czech song called:

“Ho Ho Clobby Do Netso Blinko Putsy to”

Not sure how it is spelled either. Hope someone can help.

Thanks Jim

3.  2 Czech Songs – Stacha Bounacha and Yetta Yetta

Hi!

My sisters and I are trying to figure out 2 songs our Czech Grandma used to sing.

Forgive the spelling, but the first one goes "Stacha Bounacha, Nona Fella Chachacha. Chacha Day, Chacha Day, Boo Boo, boo boo boo" and the second starts "Yetta Yetta Pom Pom".

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The questions are numbered, so if you can help with any questions, please include the number you’re helping with in the comments below.

Most people are looking for the original lyrics with an English translation if possible.  Thanks in advance for any help! –Mama Lisa

    1. I have no clue. The description links to no Czech song I know. If you could add at least a bit of phonetics I may try more.

    2. @JIM:

There are many versions of this song. All of them are a bit surrealistic. The one which seems to be most close to that what you wrote is:

    Ho ho cows go
they carry milk under the water….

    Hou, hou krávy jdou,
    nesou mlíko pod vodou.
    Nesou mlíka půl džberíka,
    i ta naše jalová
    u božího kostela.
    Kostel se boří
    stodola hoří.

    3. The second song reminds me of the song : Jede jede poštovský panáček.

Is this the one you are looking for?

I am not able to identify the first song. If you could record it the way you remember it and post it I may give another try.

#2 My mother sang a lullaby like this. She said it was a song about the end of day and the cows are coming in from the pasture to be milked. Their udders are so full of milk that they touch the water in the stream the cows are crossing.

  3. Cyble Says:

Omg have not.heard this song in years.
My grandmother and mother use to sing this to me.
    Thank you

  4. Rose Says:

Sing to the tune very similar to one on pirates of the caribbean 2 in the beginning
