The marin-congo is a dance that originated in the Ossau valley in Béarn, in the South-West of France. The marin-congo is thought to come from French sailors. That's why we translated it as marine-congo, to keep the reference to the sea.

Pour danser le marin-congo
To Dance the Marine-Congo
Chanson de danse
(French)
Dance Song
(English)

To dance the marine-congo,
It takes four, it takes four,
To dance the marine-congo,
It takes four sailors.

Four sailors on the island side,
Four sailors on the waterside,
Four sailors on the island side,
Four sailors on the waterside.
