Does Anyone Know a Saying with the Line, "If You Get it Out Put it Back"?

Hi Lisa,

My mother used to repeat a saying (about 20 lines) about common sense things that we should all do.  I only remember a few lines:
 
If you put it down, pick it up,
If you get it out, put it back
 
Ok, so I only remember 2 lines.
My siblings and I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s.
 
Do you have any idea how I can find it?
