Sylvia emailed us asking for help with a Polish song her father and grandfather sang to her when she was young. Here’s her email along with a recording of Sylvia singing the song:

“Hi, I was wondering if you or anyone you know might be able to help me. My grandfather and father were both from Warsaw and when my brothers and I were younger they would sing a special Polish song to us.

I do not know how to write in Polish, but if I phonetically write it out, I’m hoping you might recognize the song. I have not been able to find it anywhere on the web. Both my father and his father are deceased and only my brothers, my mother, and I remember it. I am now a grandmother of a 1 year old and would love to be able to sing it to him or to play it for him.

The words (phonetically written) as I remember them are:
