Are you Familiar with a Poem about Cupboard Elves?

Jenny wrote to me looking for a poem…

Hi!

I stumbled upon your site while searching for a rhyme that I would love to find for my Dad. His mother used to say it for him when he was a child, but with her passing, the opportunity to keep it in the family has been lost. If you could shed any light on the rest of this little poem, I would be thrilled.

He only remembers part of it that goes something like this….

I like to sit up late at night
And watch the cupboard shelves
Because I know that in the cupboard
Live the cupboard elves

Apparently the poem mentions that his mother says they are only mice, but he knows better!

Kind regards,

Jenny

If anyone can help with this poem, please comment below or email me.

Thanks!

Lisa

If you happen to come across the poem I would love to have a copy of it. I’m a preschool teacher and the verses that are recited above sound cool. Thank you, Sue Trimble strim@cox.net
