Recipe for Chocolate Chestnut Sausage for the Fall
Wednesday, October 18th, 2006Monique from France sent me this nice email and recipe:
Hi Lisa
Now it’s Fall, it’s chestnut season. I thought about a recipe with chestnuts for the blog. It’s called “Chocolate Sausage” (because of the shape). Here it is:
Chocolate Sausage
2 1/4 cups of puréed or finely chopped boiled Chestnuts (or canned)
5 oz. Dark Chocolate
3/4 cup Confectioner’s Sugar
7 T. Butter
1 t. Vanilla (optional) or 1 or 2 T. Rum (optional)
Cocoa PowderMelt the chocolate slowly with the butter, confectioner’s sugar and chestnuts. Pour this dough on tinfoil and roll it in the shape of a big sausage about 2 to 2 1/2 inches in diameter. Allow to cool overnight in the fridge.
The next day, roll it in cocoa powder. You can also make small balls that you roll in the cocoa powder and get delicious truffles.
Monique
Thanks for the recipe, Monique. I can’t wait to try it!
