About the Picard Language
Picard is the language traditionally spoken in Northern France, in the Picardy and Nord-Pas de Calais regions, and also in the Belgian province of Hainaut.
In the Nord-Pas de Calais area, Picard is often improperly called Chtimi (or Chti). It's a language of Oïl, as are standard French, Normand and Champenois.
