St. Brigid's Day is a Gaelic celebration that's also called Imbolc. It marks the beginning of Spring and is celebrated on February 1st, the halfway point between Winter and Spring.
The festival was historically celebrated in Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man. Its roots are originally pagan, but it merged with the Christian day of St. Brigid.
