Turkey Dinner – A Thanksgiving Song

Here is a song you can teach kids and sing at dinnertime on Thanksgiving.

Turkey Dinner is sung to the tune of Frère Jacques.

Well folks, we’re not going to win any awards for our singing, but at least we’re enthusiastic! It is a bit out of tune, but here’s my family’s rendition of Turkey Dinner.

Turkey Dinner

Turkey dinner, turkey dinner,
Gather round, gather round,
Who will get the drumstick,
Yummy, yummy drumstick,
All sit down, all sit down.

Cornbread muffins, chestnut stuffing,
Pudding pie, one foot high,
All of us were thinner,
Until we came to dinner,
Me, oh, my! Me, oh, my!

Happy Thanksgiving!

LOL! I am french from Canada with a 1 and 3 yr old… If I sing anything different than the original words of a song, my 3yr old freaks out! I am sorry but I won’t be able to use the Thanksgiving song… since we also celebrated thanksgiving over a month ago!

Keep up the good work, I will visit again

You’re welcome to sing another song to or with your kids, record it, send it to me and I’ll post it. (They’re very cute by the way!)

My kids love hearing people they know online and they love hearing recordings of the songs in general.

This song makes me wish Thanksgiving happened 365 days of the year! I loved this song! I will now sing it in the shower and think of the yummy turkey every morning. What a catchy toon that will now be sung yearly at our Thanksgiving dinners!

My kids learnt this song when they were in 1st grade. They are now 21 and 24. We still tease them about this song all the time. It is a very cute song.
