I am looking for the words to a song. I can’t seem to find them.
I know the first verse & the children I watch love it. I thought it was Spanish. It goes like this:Hey mamasita*,

The last track is titled “Mamasita”, however, it is a Christmas song:

It’s an adorable song, and my kids and I crack up whenever we listen to it. I am of Mexican descent, and I don’t ever recall my father or grandmother mentioning this song.

The song “Feliz Navidad”, was written and performed by Jose Feliciano.
It has become an American traditional Christmas song. Jose Feliciano
crossed the charts with this song. Another tidbit, he was also blind.

i have a friend who is like a sister..she grew up in california and resides in texas…she often calls me mamcita..as far as I can gather it is a term of affection…..papcita i once read is brother,..so mamcita i guess..little mother…is like sister or a female who is close to you

I’m so glad you wanted to know too! My daughter sang that song at a PTA meeting. I feel in love with it in a heartbeat! I fiinally had the guts to look it up and TA-DA! Its such a good song for kids.

In regards to Gerri Simpson song on the reindeers, it was donkeys instead of reindeers… It was also Santa Clause cousin from south of the boder Panch Claus….I grew up with that song and Mamasita Donde Esta Santa Clause along with many more… I have a burned copy of the songs if anyone cares for one, but I don’t have none of the lyrics.

Im also looking for the mamacita song that is just like the Augie Rios version. The difference is that it is sung by two kids (boy and girl), Also there is one adult on the track. In the middle of the song theres a mix where the kids say ” alright mamacita its time to break down”. If anyone knows the name I would appreciate it sooo much! Ive been looking for it and cannot seem to find it…its a gift and it doesnt matter if I find it after the holidays. Thank you so much!

The song Kerri was looking for is the one James mentioned, i.e. a Brazilian Carnival song. The original song was written in 1936 by Vicente Paiva and Jararaca and recorded in 1937. Here are the original lyrics in Brazilian Portuguese:

Thank you for having information about the Mama Paquita song! I sang that in music class when I was in 1st or 2nd grade back in the 70s. I always loved it because it’s catchy & can be quite infectious, but I couldn’t always remember all of the words. I heard it in the background of a movie recently & it brought the memory of grade school music class back! I’ll have to see if I can track down a cd of it, as my own gradeschool-aged daughter would love it!

I remember singing this song in 1st grade – I don’t remember all of the lyrics and this was in Evansville, Wyoming, so it is possible the teacher didn’t get the correct translation. Any way, the only words/lyrics I can remember:

I cried when I found this song.. when I was little we sang this in spanish.. I got picked on a lot for having a funny accent but in my music class it didnt matter. We sang and danced and no one cared what we sounded like.
