This song is sometimes sung as a round. Béla Bartók collected this Hungarian folk song in Dercen, Bereg county in 1912. Komárom is a city in Hungary on the south bank of the Danube.

Notes

Komárom is a city in Hungary on the south bank of the Danube. Komárom was formerly a separate village called Újszőny. In 1892, Komárom, now Komárno in Slovakia on the north bank, and Újszőny were connected by an iron bridge. In 1896, the two towns were united under the name of Komárom since at that time both banks of the river belonged to Hungary. They were separated again in 1918 when then Czechoslovakia claimed its independence.
