Come on, boys, come on out!
Let's go get the moon.
Bring a bamboo stick and a gunnysack*
To the hills out back.

Go on to the hills out back,
Climb high up back and back.
Pick the moon with the bamboo stick,
Put it in a gunnysack.

Over at Soonhee's house,
They can't afford to light the lamp.
When the night comes, I hear,
Mending they cannot do.

Come on, boys, come on out!
Let's pluck the moon,
And hang it up there
In Soonhee's Mommy's room.
