A School of Killifish
Children's Song
(Japanese)

Children's Song
(English)
A school of killifish* is in the little stream.
Watch the stream quietly,
Watch the stream quietly.
All of the killifish are playing happily.
The killifish, the killifish of the killifish's school,
Who is the teacher and who are the students?
Who is the teacher and who are the students?
They are dancing up and down.
A school of killifish looks merry and happy,
Swimming along the stream tooy-tooy,**
Swimming along the stream tooy-tooy,
Going together tooy-tooy.

Many thanks to Ayako Egawa for contributing and translating "Medaka No Gakko" and for the sheet music.
I would also like to thank Masako for creating the Shodo characters at the top of this page.
I'm very grateful to Susan Pomerantz for playing this tune on piano.
Medaka No Gakko is how you pronounce the name of this song in Japanese. If anyone can provide the full romaji text for this song, I'd be grateful! Please email me. Thanks! Lisa
