Here’s a lovely Swedish poem about a moonlit summer night. It was written by Finnish poet Edith Södergran (1892 – 1923).

Nocturne

Silverskira månskenskväll, nattens blåa bölja, glittervågor utan tal på varandra följa. Skuggor falla över vägen, strandens buskar gråta sakta, svarta jättar strandens silver vakta. Tystnad djup i sommarens mitt, sömn och dröm, — månen glider över havet vit och öm.

Silver clear moonlit evening,
The night’s blue billowing,
Countless glittering waves
Follow each other in.
Shadows fall across the road,
On the shore, the bushes gently weep,
Black giants guarding the silver beach.
Deep silence in summer’s midst,
Sleep and dream, –
The moon glides over the sea
Tender and light.
