The Man of the South He Burnt His Mouth

The man of the South* he burnt his mouth
By eating cold plum porridge,
The man in the moon came down too soon
To ask the way to Norwich.

Notes

*The South refers to South Devon

You can find almost the same rhyme with the first two and last two lines reversed under the name " The Man in the Moon Came Down Too Soon".
