Here's a fun animation we created for this rhyme.

When I Was a Little Boy

When I was a little boy,
I washed my
Mother's Dishes.
I put my finger in my
Ear, and pulled out
Little Fishes.

My Mother called me
Good boy,
& bid me pull out more,
I put my Finger
In my Ear,
& pulled out fourscore.

Here's another version of this rhyme I found in The Only True Mother Goose Melodies (published and copyrighted in Boston in 1833 by Munroe & Francis):

When I was a little boy,
I washed my mammy's dishes,
Now I am a great boy
I roll in golden riches.
