"Lyrics to 'Turkey in the Straw' that I learned at summer camps..." -Aili
Have you ever been a-fishin' on a bright sunny day?
Have you ever seen a fish swimming in an' out the bay?
with his hands in his pockets and his pockets in his pants?
Have you ever seen a fishy do the hootchy-kootchie dance?
Well, I have been a-fishin' on a bright sunny day.
And I have seen the fish swimming in an' out the bay.
with his hands in his pockets and his pockets in his pants.
But I never seen a fishy do the hootchy-kootchie dance.
There are actions to this one:
Fishin = pretend to cast a line
Swimmin = put two hands together and make your hands swim like a fish
Hands = show hands
Pockets = pat front pockets each time
Pants = pat pockets in the back of your pants
Hootchi-kootchie dance = wiggle a little dance
Never = wag finger "no"
