This song is originally from Spain. The first translation fits the tune, so you could sing along in English as well as Spanish...

De colores - Mexican Children's Songs - Mexico - Mama Lisa's World: Children's Songs and Rhymes from Around the World - Intro Image

Notes

I tried to keep the translation as close as possible to the original, while making it fit the melody. The biggest liberty I took was with the line, "Y por eso los grandes amores de muchos colores me gustan a mí" which I translated as, "And that's why a great love of all colors makes me feel like singing so joyfully." A more literal translation would be, "And therefore, the great love of many colors pleases me." or "And that's why I like so many colors so much." -Mama Lisa

Monique Palomares sent me another translation:

The fields in the spring dress with colors, colors,
The little birds that come from outside are colorful, colorful,
The rainbow that we see shining is colorful, colorful,
That's why l like the great love of many colors,
That's why l like the great love of many colors.

The rooster sings, the rooster sings quiri quiri quiri quiri quiri,
The hen, the hen sings cara cara cara cara cara,
The chicks, the chicks pío pío pío pío pío pí,
That's why l like the great love of many colors,
That's why l like the great love of many colors.

Dawn dresses with fine and shiny colors,
The thousand reflections that the sun gathers are colorful,
The diamond that we see shining dresses in colors,
That's why l like the great love of many colors,
That's why l like the great love of many colors.
