Mein Hut, der hat drei Ecken
My Hat Has Three Corners
Children's Song
(German)
Mein Hut, der hat drei Ecken,
Drei Ecken hat mein Hut,
Und hätt er nicht drei Ecken,
So wär es nicht mein Hut.
Children's Song
(English)
My hat has three corners,
Three corners has my hat,
Had it not three corners,
It wouldn't be my hat.

I think with that version the rhythm is much better, and closer to the original German. Your current translation is difficult to sing to the same tune.
