This is the French equivalent to "He loves me, he loves me not". This rhyme is recited while plucking a daisy. The last petal is supposed to provide the answer.
Je t'aime
I Love You
Comptine
(French)
Rhyme
(English)
Je t'aime,
Un peu,
Beaucoup,
Tendrement,
Passionnément,
À la folie,
Pas du tout.
I love you,
A little,
A lot,
Tenderly,
Passionately,
Madly,
Not at all.
Notes
The first line is sometimes: "I love you" or "S/he loves me" or "I love him/her". Another version omits "tendrement (tenderly), another adds "passablement" (passably, somewhat) after "passionnément".
